An attorney is both an advisor and an advocate. As I fulfill these roles, these are my values:
Communication: An attorney should be an excellent communicator for all parties involved. The client should be notified and briefed on all aspects of the case so that they can make informed decisions. Also, the opposing party must know not only our position but also our resolve. Finally, the judge must be able to quickly understand the case and our position through precise, clear legal writing and argument.
Diligence and efficiency: To be effective and to show strength, we must litigate diligently. At the same time, I keep the client’s resources in mind: I strive for efficiency and use up-to-date technologies, including AI tools. Although AI is not a substitute for human judgment, it can save time and money when used correctly.
Problem-solving: As an attorney, I help people solve problems. Sometimes litigation is the best tool to achieve results, but the purpose of litigation is not more litigation. Every case is different and requires comrehensive, results-oriented analysis and action.
Integrity and transparency: My policy is to always be honest with the client and the court. Honesty with the client helps the client understand not only the strengths but also the weaknesses of the case. And honesty with the court is paramount to establish and maintain credibility.
